| Come and see lots of action on
the rails
At the Harrow and Wembley society we hold special open weekends, these enable members of other clubs to come to our site and run their pride and joy on our track.
There will be lots to see as we may also have our temporary boating lake set up, if so boats will be on the water. You are welcome to come and see us and ride on the trains on the Sunday afternoon between 14:30 and 17:00.
The next Open Weekend planned for 2008 (The London Borough of Harrow has given permission for these events to be held) Will be from Saturday the 23rd to Monday the 25th of August 2008 inclusive. Miniature traction engines are welcome at open weekends. There will be train rides for the public on Sunday afternoon from around 14:30 to 17:00.
During the Open Weekend Provided there are no water restrictions, there will be a Model boat pool, 9.5 metres X 6 metres (31' x 20') and 0.23 metres (9”) deep minimum, will be available during both events. To save water this will be a reduction in length by about 2.5 metres from its customary length of 12 metres. This event will be held at the Club’s track in Roxbourne Park, Field End Road. Contacts are Brian Tilbury telephone: 020 8248 0442 or Tony Smith on email acasmith@dsl.pipex.com.
Weather dependant
All visitors to our track bringing there own rolling stock should note that it is a requirement that all wheels are in line with the Southern Federation Of Model Engineers wheel standard. Our Ground level track is multigauge with points & crossover's. Please refer to diagram below by J Cousins.
