WINTER EVENING MEETINGS
We
hold
meetings in the winter months when it can be cold and dark outside, these
are held in our Carriage Shed. All meetings start promptly at 20:00 hours on
the dates given below.
We
have
ample parking on site.
The 2008/09 season's meetings are being arranged.
Meetings are being planned, each with an interesting topic, for the
2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Meetings in the 2007/08 season included:
Jan 9th
- Quiz night
Jan 23rd - guest speaker: Gerry Divine
on "Fast Bus?"
Gerry Divine has been in the transport
industry for a long time and is currently working on improvements to
bus services in this quadrant of the London area.
Feb 13th - guest speaker: Bob Bramson
on "Braking systems for model engineers"
Bob Bramson is a noted speaker on model
engineering and I understand the second half of his presentation is
actually a practical demonstration, so this should be especially
interesting. Please be prompt as if he starts late we will have to
trim the tea break to get everything in without a serious over-run.
Feb 27th - the Photo Competition.
March
12th - Peter Darley on the "Stationary Winding Engines on the Camden
Incline."
March
26th -David Wadley on "London Underground's closed stations."
April 23rd Peter Hingley "Science and Technology in the
paintings of John Constable"
April
30th - Fifth Wednesday NO MEETING!
Please
watch this site.
If anyone
can suggest more possible speakers for the 2008 / 2009 sessions,
Michael
Orton our Programme Manager, will be very pleased to hear of it.
